Information

Developed countries are the world's major markets for disposable medical devices. In addition, previously neglected countries and regions are becoming new markets for disposable medical devices, including those in West Africa and Southeast Asia.

In the past 10 years, the global disposable medical device industry has achieved unprecedented development. According to the latest foreign reports, the global disposable medical device market in 2009 has reached 89 billion dollars in total sales. In the United States, Europe and other developed countries and regions, disposable medical device sales have accounted for about 45% of the total sales of its medical device market. It is estimated that by 2011, the global disposable medical device market is expected to reach nearly 100 billion DOLLARS.

The United States is the world's largest market for disposable medical devices, accounting for more than 40 percent of the global market. Europe is the world's second largest market for disposable medical devices, accounting for about 29 percent of the global market. Countries including Japan, China, India and other emerging industrial countries in Asia together account for about 17% to 18% of the international market for disposable medical devices.

Among them, the non-woven fabric made of high polymer PP has low price, can withstand ultraviolet ray or ethylene oxide and other common disinfection methods, and is very suitable for making various medical textiles, sanitary materials, bandages and other products to replace cotton fabric products.

Medical textiles or sanitary materials made from nonwoven fabrics are more environmentally friendly because they can be recycled and recycled as waste plastics after use. Most of the sanitary materials that can be made from cotton cloth can be produced from non-woven fabrics, such as surgical MATS, sterilizing outer packing, wound protection materials, foot protection materials, sanitary masks, hospital bed sheets, surgical covers, doctors' overalls and patients' clothing, etc.

It is understood that in recent years, only the United States and Canada consume about 3.3 billion square meters of nonwoven raw materials each year, used for processing all kinds of sanitary materials and medical textiles. The COMBINED annual sales of disposable nonwoven sanitary materials and medical textiles in the United States are $3.4 billion, ranking first in the world. Europe was second, with sales of about $2.3 billion; Japan, China, India and other emerging industrial countries in Asia have seen rapid growth in the consumption of disposable nonwoven sanitary materials and medical textiles. The global market for disposable nonwoven sanitary materials and medical textiles is forecast to exceed $5bn by 2011.

As non-woven disposable sanitary materials and medical textiles can save precious cotton fiber raw materials, and the price of non-woven fabrics is only 1/4 of that of cotton fiber, more and more sanitary materials and medical textiles will switch to non-woven disposable products to reduce production costs. The head of The American Medical Device Industry Association believes that in the next few years, the annual growth rate of the international market of disposable nonwoven surgical materials and sanitary materials will reach about 15%, and it will become another kind of best-selling disposable device products in the international market after the disposable syringe.
