As we all know, it is greatly important of kids’ safety. In everyday life, children cannot avoid some wounds, so wound plaster is prepared in each home, however, wound plaster cannot be used casually. There are four mistakes made often to kids below.

NO.1 wound plaster is not omnipotent.

Wound plaster is not omnipotent, and is not good for all wound. In general, it is useful for small and minor injuries, especially for cuts which are clean, less bloody and needless to sew up, for example, knife wound, cut, glass wound and so on.

Correct use: it should be strict to identify the wound type. For big, deep wound or wound with other things, it is not advisable to use wound plaster but to go to hospital instead. For polluted or infected wound, for example, more serious skin wound or burn wound, it is not advisable to use it. Otherwise, for wound of folliculitis, furuncle, purulent, infected and all kinds of skin disease, it is not advisable to use it

No.2 wound plaster can be used casually

When we use wound plaster, we often use it casually for convenience, but actually it is not correct.

Correct use: Before using, we should first check whether there are pollutions left in the wound, if yes, the wound should be cleaned by saline and then covered by wound plaster. But if the wound is punctured by nails and deep, you should go to hospital right away to inject tetanus antitoxin. Second, after opening wound plaster, you should avoid polluting the medicine side. When covering the wound, the medicine side should be strictly to the wound, and press both sides of the wound lightly.

No.2 wound plaster can be used for a long time

Wound plaster cannot be used for a long time and be ignored.

Correct use: First you should observe the change of the wound. If covering time is over 24 hours, you feel a throbbing pain from the wound, or secretion flows, open and see if the wound is swollen and tender. If yes, the wound is infected and should be dealt with by doctors. Second, notice the protection of the wound. After using wound plaster, do not press or squeeze the wound often with hands, avoid moving with the wound part and being knocked for fear of wound dehiscence.
